Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

This is one of those recipes that you don't really want to give out because once you do people realize you're not actually a good cook; you can just follow a great recipe. So my secret's out...don't tell Bobby.

Throwdown Cookies
3 eggs
1 c raisins
1 t vanilla

1 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar

2 ½ c flour
½ t salt
1 t cinnamon
2 t baking soda
2 c oatmeal

Mix the raisins, eggs (break them up with a fork) and vanilla in a little bowl. Let them stand for an hour.

Cream the butter and sugars. Add everything except the oatmeal and egg mixture. Add the oatmeal and egg mixture together. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350° for 10-12 minutes.
They are better underdone rather than overdone.

Having made your recipe a few times now, I can agree that these are the BEST oatmeal raisin cookies ever.......Doug's favorite!

Love the shirt! You did a nice job. The cookies look delicious. I'll have to give them a try. A handful of choc chips wouldn't hurt either. Love you Laura

I tried the recipe, and. . .they're fantastic. I wasn't sure if I could like anything better than the taste of the cookie dough, then I baked them and fell in love all over again. A note to your readers: these cookies spread big time while they are cooking. Which, in my case, made for one very big, very delicious cookie.

WOW! Thanks for sharing. Best oatmeal cookie I've had. I added the chocolate chips and mine didn't spread out at all. Watchout Bobby Flay, Dr. Al is comin' to throw down!!

Good call, Cam. Mine always spread out. They are a flat delicious cookie.

Hold on, Al. I just made the second batch, and they didn't spread. Guess I'll have to make another batch to determine what kind of craziness I did and which time.

Al, I have to tell you one more thing about this. I love that my printout for this recipe says "Throwdown cookies" in delicate little print at the top. You're so funny.

Cam--I'm glad you enjoy the cookies as much as I do. Puts a smile on my face.

ps--I miss you. I had a dream last night that I was in St. George and ran into you...maybe we should make it a reality.
