walking about

Our ward did a "walk about" last night. A walk about, for those of you not in the know, is where three houses in the neighborhood host a little front yard chit chat, complete with treats and drink. They asked us to host the first one and we happily obliged. I love {and hate} an excuse to bake and get my yard/house in order. Thanks to oodles of help from my mom, Kimmy and Kneaders, it was a success. Ella loved the kids+dogs+treats.

Wish I could just stroll on by for that - fun idea!

On one of your platters I think I see some Lemon Drop Cookies - if I'm right, THOSE ARE THE BEST! In fact, I think I'm going to have to make some now...
Looks like fun:) Hope you're having a fabulous summer!

Did Kimmy make the sugar cookies? And mom the chocolate chip?

All of the plants look great! You can garden, even though you think you can't...:)

Andrea, you are right. The lemon cookies are in fact THE BEST. They were delicious.

Jamie, you are wrong. Kimmy made the chocolate chip, Mom made the lemon, and I made the sugar cookies (which were actually the worst of the bunch--don't try the new sugar cookie recipe from Keeping Up. Our old standby is better).

Thanks, Nik. I don't have inherent talent, but I an dig holes, and have friends who tell me where to plant!

Yours was by far the fanciest that night. When we hosted last year, he did ice cream sandwiches.

By the time we got there most of the plates were empty so it's fun to see them all full. They look beautiful and the lemon cookies are my new favorite.

Even if they weren't the best tasting, they still look really cute.
